Just a quick post about the OctoPuss sale that's starting thursday, all prints £5, more details at the OctoPuss Blog.
The Catpaint blog

My tattoo equipment came yesterday (Monday), and I'm super stoked! Basically bought everything through the Micky Sharpz website for convenience (and to match my budget) and it came pretty quick.
In the top picture clockwise from top-left is my power supply (a small travel style power supply), foot pedal and clip cords etc. all bagged up, and my machine, a Micky Sharps Stainless Steel Hybrid.
I'm not entirely sure what a hybrid is but I've gathered it's to do with the frame, as all the hybrid's I've seen have the same sort of frame. I picked this based on it's ability to be used as a liner and shader, the price, and also as it looked quite simple and nice. There are so many machines that have nuts frames with all sorts of fancy designs and I thought like, I don't want a fancy frame to distract me and others from the work I'm supposed to be doing.
As a bonus, I turned up at Pink Ink today to find Leeanne and Ben having set up a little workstation for me to sit and practice tattooing at, so I got to spend a few hours sitting tattooing with my own machine and getting started on learning the process, which I really enjoyed! I was practicing tattooing this weird rubber skin which was alright and gave me a vague idea, I'll try and get some photos of it some time. Hopefully I'll be able to practice on pig skin and then a few willing victims in the future!

Sketched this yesterday while it was quiet at Pink Ink. Skull is a bit off but nothing which isn't fixable I don't think. There's an unedited version on my dA, which I think looks a bit nicer cos the contrast isn't as harsh as on this pic.
Been drawing a canny few skulls lately, as I've been looking at tattoo flash and the black and grey shaded stuff, loving it! Just ordered my tattoo machine and powerpack etc which should arrive this week, just need to get some pig skin and needles etc. and can get some practice in hopefully!
Got my OctoPuss tattoo a few weeks ago (I know my bro will disapprove so I apologise if you're reading this) and I'm chuffed with it! Colours are really bright and it's looking sweet, just need to go back and get some shading done when I can afford it. Took about 2-3 hours or so by Cal at Trackside in Heaton.
Linework.

Just a reminder that you can still buy my T-shirt from Native Skate Store, I don't get any cash from it but it's cool to see people wearing my shirt! I made this little banner thing for the blog a while ago but have only just got around to sorting it out and putting it on the site now.
Think I'm pretty much finished with this now, I had a few other ideas I wanted to try out with this technique but I think I'll draw something else for it:) Quite happy with how the textures turned out, you should try it sometime it's ace!
Sketch of a new character I'm working on for a sort of comic style idea I've had, really like his round little happy-head!
Experimenting with textures. For some reason the final image has came out a bit smaller than I'd hoped but I'm hoping it's just the way I've exported it. Still need to add some more detail but I reckon it's came out alright.
Here is the first story from when I was a child!
I know the picture is very unrelated, but I really wanted to blog about this. It seems Laupside a skater built skatepark's been demolished recently by the council, check the article over at French's blog. Normally I wouldn't be so fussed as it's not somewhere I've ever been to/cared about, but we've got a something similar in Newcastle in what is known as the wasteland. The wasteland is, as it sounds, a bit of land where there used to be a factory years ago, and over the years people have came and built different things there.
Oh yeah! Guess which bit I drew!?!
...blog.
I took this photo recently whilst enjoying my time spent not at college. Apart from kite flying I'm spending my time applying for jobseekers' and skating at the moment, while I look for a more permanent job (so please, feel free to offer work!). It's my graduation next week but I doubt I'll be attending as I haven't sorted out gowns et c. yet and it's not really my thing.
Well, my final show for BA (Hons) Creative Practice went as well as could be expected (a bit of a dive), but boozy times were to be had by all! Above is a photo of our main display in our main display....area, albeit a bit desolate without our portfolios etc. on display.
Just a bit of promotional stuff for my new 'OctoPuss' web store!
